| This really turned out to be a special day. We weren't sure what everyone's plans were because Doug's AF basketball team was playing in the state Championship game-so cool! I hated to have my parents make a trip down for the blessing because they are coming the next two weekends but My mom and Dad and Greg drove down after the game. We weren't going to do any special dinner or anything mainly because the church has asked us not to focus on the get together rather than the blessing but it turned out quite simple and nice. I have struggled with where to draw the line because it is nice to get together with family after church but I do think we shouldn't stress about the event after. We made it very simple with little stress and the blessing to me was the highlight! We made easy crock pot shredded pork sandwiches. Cam's mom made a yummy fruit salad. My mom made some yummy brownies and Leanne-so pregnant-made the yummiest dessert!! We had both grandparents there. Leanne and John and their family came. Maryann and the girls came and Amie and her kids came. Those who wanted stayed for all of church and then we met after church for dinner. Jada was quite call at the first of church so I was hopeful but then she started getting fussy. There were two blessings before hers and as the first one started she started screaming so I went out in the hall-Kade followed me. It is always a juggling act. I had some gripe water ready and when it was her time-I handed her to Cam and grabbed her syringe full of gripe water and squirted some in her mouth. Our stake President didn't know what was going on and I totally felt awkward up in the circle but then quickly sat down. Between the gripe water and the priesthood :) (probably more the priesthood ) she was an angel. I totally expected her to scream the whole time. she isn't usually calm when awake. She has moments of being calm. She has a little hernia that bugs her a bit and seems gassy all the time. I love to console her and eat her soft cheeks! The spirit was so strong during the blessing. I wish so bad I could have recorded it and captured that feeling I had even with Kade being a pill on my lap. The spirit was so strong. Cam's thoughts came out so well. He blessed her to be a happy baby and a happy child, to keep her eyes focused on the temple. My favorite part was telling her that she was born into a wonderful family and together we would hold hands and together we would work to build the kingdom. He told her to cease to be idle and to use her time wisely. She was reminded that our father in heaven would guide her decisions through the Holy Ghost. |
